Sonic Boom! The first supersonic passenger aircraft, distinctive for its long wine glass form, it could reach a speed of 1,350mph and make the transatlantic crossing in under 3 hours. Concorde was designed and manufactured jointly by the British and French governments in the early 1960’s. What resulted was hailed as the greatest step forward in civil aviation history. Only 14 ever went into service and it was ultimately withdrawn from flight in 2003 following controversy over a crash in Paris, rumours of spiralling costs, and complaints about noise. But what you see overleaf is not just a plane.

Concorde was an aspirational ideal of ingenuity, audacity, and collaboration. Things we currently lack in our own industry.
